Check Your Local Stations

Canadian local television stations in certain areas have stopped broadcasting over-the-air in analog and have started broadcasting over-the-air in digital. Television stations in other areas may have also switched to digital even if they were not required to do so by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). This is because digital signals provide better picture and sound and take up less airwave space.

Some TV stations may have simply moved to another analog channel on your television and some may have discontinued their local broadcasting.

Use the map below to see which stations were required by the CRTC to make the transition to over-the-air digital television or have made changes voluntarily.

Remember, if you watch television via cable, satellite, or the Internet, you are not affected by the transition to digital television.
